Thomas Gainsborough

In Ipswich there is a number of buildings which have Blue Plaques. This indicates that a distinguished person lived there at some time. Thomas Gainsborough(1727-1788), the famous portrait and landscape painter, lived in Foundation Street from 1752-1759.
